Emergency and Critical Care Technician
Veterinary Anesthesia Technician
Austin Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center (AVES) is seeking a technician proficient in veterinary anesthesia to join our team. AVES is a multi-disciplinary hospital supporting Surgery, Neurology, Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Oncology and Dentistry & Oral Surgery services. The eligible applicant should have a vast technical skill set with a focus on veterinary anesthesia and patient monitoring. The applicant would provide anesthesia services for all specialty departments managing patients with a multitude of systemic diseases, orthopedic, soft tissue or neurologic diseases. Anesthesia cases at AVES include (but are not limited to) advanced imaging (CT and MRI), orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries, laparoscopic procedures, endoscopy, cystoscopy, dental and oral surgery, and sedated procedures. Equipment available include pulse oximetry, capnography, invasive and non-invasive blood pressure, ECG, and mechanical ventilators.

AVES surgery department is seeking a skilled technician to join their team and help provide high quality patient care. Our surgery technicians assist doctors in examination rooms and provide care to a variety of patients before, during and after surgery. Responsibilities include maintenance of all medical, anesthesia, and surgery records/logs, anesthesia induction and maintenance, cleaning and maintenance of surgical equipment, surgical preparation of patients, circulating in the operating room, scrubbing in to assist during surgical procedures, immediate pre and post-operative treatments and recovery of surgery patients.
AVES surgery department co-manages patients with our other specialty services including Surgery, Neurology, Oncology, Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Dentistry & Oral Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, and Rehabilitation & Fitness. The surgery technicians help support AVES’s goals of providing 24/7/365 services to the veterinary community by contributing to on-call services, holiday coverage, and occasional coverage in other departments.
Requesting 2 years of veterinary patient handling experience, preferably with a veterinary specialty hospital or veterinary emergency hospital.

Radiology Technician Assistant (RTA)
Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center (AVES) is seeking a Radiology Technician Assistant (RTA) to join our team. As the RTA you will assist with all tasks associated with x-rays and ultrasounds. This includes helping to prepare for and assist in radiographs and ultrasounds by preparing previous imaging reports for comparison, properly positioning and restrianing patients, entering appropriate information into our medical record system, and cleaning and maintaining the equipment, among other tasks. The eligible candidate should be able to lift up to 40 lbs, properly restrain animals, and be able to multitask. This opportunity is for a full-time position.

Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center is seeking a motivated individual to help improve our communication with clients. We are looking for a compassionate, organized, and thorough/clear communicator to work closely alongside our client service specialists (receptionists), client patient coordinators, and patient care personnel (technicians). As the client service assistant, you will work to help streamline communication for clients whose pet’s have presented through our emergency department by coordinating the delivery and receipt of electronic documents, assisting in the patient triage process (including entering patients into electronic treatment sheets, obtaining re-triage vitals, and helping to maintain the order of patient evaluation), data entry into our medical record software, assisting in client check-out, and relaying patient status updates to clients including photos, among other duties.
