Jacqueline Cavalcanti | DVM, DACVS

Dr. Jacqueline Cavalcanti completed her Small Animal Residency Program at University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine prior to moving to Austin to join the AVES family.  Before her residency, she completed a medicine/surgery internship at Virginia-Maryland and a surgical oncology internship at University of Florida. Prior to coming to the US for her clinical training, she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and completed a small animal residency program at Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, after which she spent a few years working as a surgeon. Dr. Cavalcanti is particularly interested in surgical oncology, cardiothoracic surgery, soft tissue surgery, and minimally invasive procedures. She has published research articles on different surgical topics in leading veterinary journals over the past several years. During her free time, she loves traveling, spending time with her family, and doing water based outdoor activities.
