Austin Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center (AVES) is currently seeking skilled veterinary technicians to join our Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) department. The chosen applicants will be responsible for providing care to emergent and critical patients evaluated through the ECC department. Additionally, they will assist in supporting patients hospitalized under other specialty services such as Surgery, Oncology, Neurology, Internal Medicine, and Cardiology.

The ideal candidate should possess enthusiasm, a strong desire to learn, and exceptional multitasking abilities. They will closely collaborate with veterinarians and other patient care personnel, providing excellent client service and maintaining the highest standards of patient care. Effective communication skills with colleagues and clients are essential. The candidate should be proficient in various skills including, but not limited to, intravenous catheter placement, venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, drug dose calculation, managing patients with infectious diseases, and caring for critical hospitalized patients.

A minimum of 2 years of veterinary patient handling experience is required, preferably in a veterinary specialty hospital or veterinary emergency hospital. This position may involve working on weekends, holidays, and/or nights.
