Devyn Schultz | DVM, MS
Devyn Schultz, DVM, MS, Residency Trained in Small Animal Internal Medicine. Dr. Schultz was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He joins AVES from Grafton, Massachusetts where he recently completed his residency. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Animal Science and Pathobiology from the University of Connecticut, Dr. Schultz went on to complete a master's in Biomedical Science followed by a degree in Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University. Dr. Schultz graduated summa cum laude from veterinary school. After graduating, he returned to New England to complete a one year rotating internship followed by a three year residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. At his residency graduation, Dr. Schultz was awarded the Jules and Lucy Silver Animal Bedside Manner Award. This award is presented to the resident demonstrating outstanding care, concern, and sensitivity for the well-being of both animal patients and clients.
Dr Schultz has a passion for all aspects of internal medicine. During residency, he worked on research looking at outcomes of dogs with different categories of chronic kidney disease. He also has a special interest in interventional procedures and managing diseases of the liver. When Dr. Schultz isn’t treating his patients, he can be found enjoying Lake Travis, training for his first marathon, or rooting for UConn basketball, Aggie Football, or the Houston Astros. Dr. Schultz is excited to return back to Texas to be closer to family and to provide care to the many dogs and cats of Austin and the surrounding areas.
