Dr. Vaughn received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2007 from St. George’s University. That same year she completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA Aurora and VCA Berwyn Animal Hospitals. In 2011, Dr. Vaughn received her board certification by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care after completing her residency at New England Animal Medical Center in West Bridgewater, MA. Dr. Vaughn has been the medical director of two well established veterinary emergency hospitals and enjoys leading a team of highly skilled veterinarians and technical staff.
Dr. Vaughn is dedicated to caring for patients that require both emergency care and intensive medical care. Dr. Vaughn has a special interest in managing patients with severe electrolyte imbalances, polytrauma, and sepsis. She published a two-part clinical practice review on severe burn injury and smoke inhalation in jury in small animals. She also enjoys giving back to the veterinary community by providing educational seminars.
