LEADING VETERINARY SPECIALISTS EXPAND SERVICES
Austin, TX (March 12, 2015) – The doctors and staff are pleased to announce the opening of the Dentistry and Oral Surgery department of the 11,000 square foot Austin Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center (7300 Ranch Road 2222). AVES Dentistry and Oral Surgery department will be led by Dr. Mary Jane “MJ” Redman. She will begin seeing appointments and performing procedures on March 23 and will be scheduled at AVES on Mondays.
“Studies have shown that 80% of dogs and 70% of cats over the age of 3 have some degree of periodontal disease,” said Dr. Redman regarding ongoing dental health needs. “Symptoms can include bad breath, loose teeth, drooling and difficulty chewing, and animals are very good at hiding their problems, so it’s important for pet owners to take an active role in caring for their pets’ teeth.”
The Dentistry and Oral Surgery department joins the existing departments at AVES including Surgery & Orthopedics, Diagnostic Imaging, and the newly opened 24-hour Emergency and Critical Care service.
